Nov. 27th, 2016 – Doc DeHaven Memorial Concert

Madison Jazz Society has organized this wonderful tribute to the late Doc DeHaven, the iconic trumpeter-bandleader-educator who passed away earlier this year.  Dave Cooper (Doc’s son-in-law) and Doc’s grandson John are serving as the concert’s musical co-directors, and musicians scheduled to perform include saxophonist Bill Grahn, guitarist-vocalist Cliff Frederiksen, vocalists Angela Babler, Marilyn Fisher, Lynnea Godfriaux and Judi K, saxophonist-clarinetists June Dalton and Doug Terhune, guitarist Doug Brown, pianists Paul Hastil and Brad Pregeant, and more to be announced.  Free admission, but donations will be taken at the door and all proceeds will support the Doc & Lea DeHaven Music Excellence Award through the UW Foundation and the Erle Smith–Doc DeHaven Music Clinic Scholarship. 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Coliseum Bar, 232 East Olin Avenue.
