HORNZZ. HORNZZ began out of a love of jazz: improvisation, creativity, and an awesome groove. HORNZZ also came from a love of exceptional musicianship and “tight as a fist” ensemble playing. They play arrangements for unaccompanied horns drawn from the repertoire and inspiration of the group Hornheads. With the addition of a rhythm section they play the music of the late 1940’s/1950’s “Cool” and “West Coast” midsize ensembles, as well as more modern arrangements in straight ahead, fusion, funk and Latin styles of jazz. Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St. 7pm. Tickets $15 & $20.
